If you are reading this, then the choice you made in your darkest hours was to survive.
“Let us therefore brace ourselves to ourduties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say: ‘This was their finest hour.”
― Winston S. Churchill, Their Finest Hour
Hopes, dreams, desires, happiness are things we all share in common and many of us deal with what we think are the hardships of life.
In Winston Churchill's quote above came from his speech, “Our Darkest Hour”. The very existence of freedom and democracy were in danger and this is about this story of survival of life as it was known then.
In the end the world chose to defeat what some called the forces of evil and a totalitarian world. This was about the survival of a free and democratic society and this dedication to survival won.
So, how does this apply to you and what may it mean about you? Living in this shell we call human can be challenging, and one of the fundamental things we learn is how to survive in this body, our family, our community, our country, our earth, and the universe. There are many doubts, fear, confusion, and even terror along the way.
If you are reading this, then the choice you made in your darkest hours was to survive. You are a survivor. And in your own world there were many times you experienced a threat to yourself and each time you chose to survive.
In each of these moments you experienced your finest hour!
You all have made the hard choice to do what it takes to survive. So, take comfort and congratulate yourself that you not only chose life but you also have what it takes to live!
